Digitel Systems and the Environment
At Digitel Systems Inc., we are determined to proactively contribute to establishing
a sustainable society as we strive to reduce our corporate footprint. In our office,
we participated in recycling programs long before it became a matter of ethics in
business. To us, it is also a matter of conscience and personal responsibility to
society.
A quarter century in telecommunications has resulted in a unique awareness and perspective
in regards to office electronics. Our electronics, scrap metal, etc. are processed
by a professional recycling company, either by refurbishing or disassembly for parts.
What cannot be reused in its present form is processed into a form that can be used
to manufacture new products.
Environmentally friendly printing and packaging is of major concern to Digitel.
We recycle cardboard and paper through recycling specialists to ensure proper processing,
including a shredding service. Our ink and toner cartridges are also professionally
recycled. The use of these services is not an option, its office policy.
Our information is available in electronic formats, allowing us to e-mail brochures
and other formerly printed materials. We are also developing electronic materials
for our Account Managers to utilize in sales presentations. This greatly reduces
the amount of paper we use to provide information.
Voice Over IP (VoIP) solutions are utilized to avoid unnecessary travel back and
forth to our office. Teleworking is facilitated using a combination of applications
and Unified Communications. VoIP also keeps air travel to a minimum through economical
and feature-rich communication alternatives such as Web & Video Conferencing.
Digitel is proud of our product manufacturers' commitment to a recycle-based society.
Both Mitel and Toshiba have been award winning, industry leaders in environmental
